In the past I have taken a two week long summer camp program dealing with technology and video set up. It included how to navigate on the web and on a computer, how to make your own power point presentation, and also how to broadcast information through a TV network. It was a fun camp, because it taught me how to be in front of a camera and behind the scenes. Technology has advanced even from a few years ago, so I think it is interesting to see the differences and learn them as well. I liked the information about television and cameras more than the redundant computer information, but it still helped out. Making a power point is important, because a lot of courses now intend students to get together and explain as a group certain things. For example, my English class wanted to document some type of culture. I took pictures of Lake Ella life and made a power point about that culture.
I hope to learn different aspects and techniques to help teach students in a classroom. I really think this class should help me even if I decide I don't want to be a teacher. I think it's important to have a basis on how to teach, even if you are just reading directly from a power point. I also think that visual aids help, therefore this class can be very helpful.
I've learned that I am a visual learner. I cannot just listen to something and remember it. I need to at least write it down. I've also learned that I make things more complicated than they need to be, especially with tests.

I agree with you that visual aids do help in the classroom. I am a visual learner as well and can easily pick up a topic or idea a lot faster visually then I can by just listening.
