After reading other blogs, there were such a variety of differences it was funny. I liked how you can read anyone's and it will be different from yours. I also like that these blogs are not all involved in school but also socially what they're doing over the weekend, etc.
The next skill I want to learn would deal more with something that can help me in the classroom or in my future career. I guess a skill with software that can help children with their reading or math. As long as I can keep up with the different technologies being thrown at me, it'll be okay. I don't want the kids in my class to be more up to date with technology then me!
I think just to be able to continue with my education and push myself to complete goals and make new ones will be beneficial in achieving any future goals. As long as I have the will to keep wanting to learn more and make a difference I think that will really be the best way to achieve any future education-technology related goals.

In many different schools whether it's elementary, middle, or high school english grammar is always hard for kids. English in schools is hard to teach especially with the changes in technology. Kids use AIM or other things and forget proper grammar and even spelling. It is important for kids to learn this early on that way it will only get easier for them as they go. I found a cool site dealing with different subjects in school. There are flash cards that can be done online and it can be for teachers whether they are students or not, kids, and even their parents.
There are also other activities that can be fun for kids like coloring pages, dot-to-dot, and puzzles. This site is fun for kids, informative for parents, and works with any level ranging from Pre-K to High School. http://www.abcteach.com/ is the website. It's also easy to understand and there are no pop-ups when you enter the site, which is a plus.
The technology related skill I would like to learn next would be dealing with my computer and music and videos. I don't really know how to use my iPod by myself and I would like to know other technology things dealing with this. Plus technology just keeps moving forward, and if I don't know how to do this then I might not be able to learn the next thing.
I don't really know ways that I can achieve future education-technology related goals. I guess just keep up with the different technology and experimenting on it?

After reading chapter 8, I learned about computer security risks and crimes. I also learned about computer viruses. A virus is designed to affect computers negatively by altering the way they work. There are boot sector viruses, file viruses, and macro viruses. Worms and Trojan horses are two names used instead of saying computer virus. System failure is another thing I learned about. System failures occur because of electrical problems, hardware failure, or software error. Undervoltage, overvoltage, power surge are all problems that can occur.
New skills that I have learned are basically dealing with Excel and Powerpoint. I knew how to use both softwares, but after doing the activities and skill checks I really learned a lot more. Over the summer I used Excel a lot at my work, but I didn't know how to use all of the formulas and other things that we learned in class.
This class is pretty good. I think it is pretty helpful and will be in the future if not right now. This weekend I went to Kissimmee and went to Medieval Times Dinner with some friends. It was a lot of fun and I took a lot of pictures.

After reading chapter 6, technology integration really popped out, as well as curriculum. Curriculum is all the experiences a learner has under the supervision and guidance of teachers. Technology integration is all technology parts together with each subject-related area of curriculum to enhance learning. I learned technology integration in curriculum and some barriers included like lack of training for teachers and administration. I also learned about different types of strategies to integrate technology into teaching.
Some new skills I learned are dealing with chapter 6. For example, learning styles and how to incorporate teaching into the different styles. Another thing would be about the lesson plans. I learned how to draw up a lesson plan and insure that it integrates technology into a classroom.
Nothing really new to share, I'm really glad we won our football game! I may switch my major from teaching to youth services case worker. I'm not really sure yet. It's hard for me to make up my mind about what I want to do for the rest of my life.

After reading chapter 5, digital media plays an important part in American society as well as the rest of the world. Digital technology for education, business, and entertainment allows for everyone to use the world wibe web. There are also electronic books named e-books that are used more and more which allow users to read, save, highlight, bookmark, and many other things. Virtual reality is used more and more also to display entertaining images as well as educational environments. There are many different types of software that can be used to enhance learning on the web, educational simulation, and digital media.
The only new skills I have acquired are dealing with the Microsoft Word Training. I think those are helpful though, because I'm learning more and more about certain things that I never would have known. I didn't even know that some of these things existed. I think that the most important new skill I learned was dealing with templates and saving documents under different folders and different types of things (ie templates, rtf, html, etc).
I don't have anything new to share except that I just decorated my apartment for Halloween! I really like doing things like that. I think it's fun. I put up some decorations and lights with spiders on them! Halloween is exciting. Plus I'm in the process of babysitting my dog from back home. It's kind of different though, because I'm not used to having an animal here and she makes me get up EXTREMELY early.

After reading chapter four, some important topics that were discussed include the system unit, imput and devices dealing with input, output and devices dealing with output, and storage. The system unit, which is metal or plastic, houses the electronic components it uses to process data. Some examples of this would be the motherboard, the CPU, and expansion slots and cards along with ports and connectors. Input is entering data, programs, commands, and responses into the memory. A keyboard, pointing devices like a mouse, and audio/video are all examples of input into a system. Audio being music or speech and video being a full-motion recording. Output is data that has been processed into a useful form which is then called information. This would include tect, graphics, audio, and video. A monitor or printer are examples of output from a system. Storage finally, is the media on which data, instuctions, and information are kept as well as devices that record and retrieve items. Floppy and hard disks, CD's and DVD's are all examples of storage.
I really liked learning how to use the inspiration software. I think it was pretty cool that we could organize everything that we were thinking involving one topic. As an elementary teacher, I think I would use that software a lot, especially dealing with language arts. After reading chapter 3, I learned about the different categories of Application Software. There are 5 different types that range from Productivity Business to Communications. For example, the category Graphic Design and Multimedia includes web page authoring and desktop publishing. School includes a grade book and even note taking. I also learned that there is note taking software, which enables users to enter typed, hand written comments, ore even drawings anywhere on a page.
New skills I've acquired since the last post would have to deal with Windows XP. I learned how to do different operations on the computer in different ways than I was used to. I now have a better knowledge of how to format pages and add different things to make a page look better.
I think this class is helpful for my future, especially as a teacher. Even if I do not pursue that goal anymore, this class will still help me with using technology. Especially with advancing technology.
